Camp for 17th Common Wealth Karate Championship
Venue: Mahamaya Sports, Ghaziabad
Date : 8th & 9th May, 2010

Summary : 17th Common Wealth Karate championship's contest was held in Ghaziabad's Sports stadium on 8th & 9th May 2010.

District Magistrate Shri R. Ramesh Kumar cut the ribbon for official opening on the championship different state level player from Maharashtra, Bihar, Rajasthan, Jharkhand etc. and International level player participated in Championship.

IAMR organised a physiotherapy camp on the occasion of Common Wealth Games at Mahamaya Sports Center situated in Ghaziabad wherein the students provided an immediate medical aid & physiotherapy to the players in the guidance of Head of the Department Dr. Shagun Aggarwal & Lecturer Dr. Vijeta Arora, Anjali Goyal, Smriti & Harsh students of MPT took part in the two days camp. Students gave some fitness tips to the players and also educated them about the importance of Pre-Competition exercises.

In our country the game get affected mostly due to the injuries of the player. With the proper guidance of the physiotherapist the players can be saved from getting injured, which will also improve their way of playing. IAMR will provide the physiotherapy facility in many of the future matches to be held in Mahamaya Sports Center.

The Institute's chairman Shri R.K.Gupta and the director Shri Sanjay Bansal congratulated the department for its participation in such various activities and encouraged the department to always stay actively involved in such sports activities. They also emphasized that its very importance for the Institute, its members and the students to actively participate in such activity.

Blood Donation Camp
Venue: IAMR Campus, Duhai, Ghaziabad
Date : 9th March 2010

Summary : IAMR organized a Blood Donation Camp in partnership with Rotary Club on 9th March 2010 in its Physiotherapy Department. Over 100 volunteers including IAMR faculty and students donated blood on this noble occasion. The response was tremendous which surpassed the previous year’s record.

The event was inaugurated at 9:00 AM by Shri. R.K Gupta, Chairman (IAMR Group) and Shri. Sanjay Bansal, Secretary (IAMR Group). Shri. Sanjay Bansal took the lead along with the faculty of physiotherapy which inspires other to donate their blood.

Catchy slogans like “Be Proud to be a Donor”, “No one shall die for want of blood” were displayed at prominent places throughout the college and on notice boards which resulted in this overwhelming response from faculty and students.

We hope more and more organizations will come forward to support this cause and spread the awareness across the whole nation.

Summary : In collaboration with LION’S Club, a medical camp was organized in Shri Maharaja Agarasen Vridh Asaram, Garhmukteshwar on 26th December’09. All faculty members were given this opportunity to contribute to the society by prescribing exercises to the geriatric population.

Summary : A free Orthopaedics and Physiotherapy Camp was also organized by IAMR at Kamal Hospital, Kaushambi on 21st November’2009. Consultation and treatment was given to approximately 65 patients.

The benefit of these camps was two-fold as it not only helped the needy patients but also acted as wonderful platform for students to gain practical exposure.

Summary : Every year, IAMR PT department organizes free medical and physiotherapy camps for the consultation and treatment of various conditions like joint pains, sciatica, stroke, cerebral palsy, fracture, ligament and muscular conditions etc. This year also, our first camp was successfully organized on 8th August’09. It was able to successfully treat approximately 50 patients and was well appreciated by one and all. Another camp was organized on 7th November’09 that treated approximately 60 patients.
