Integrated M. Tech. (Biotechnology)

Overview

Biotechnology is a frontline applied science & is of vital important to study modern biology which is recognized as the new scientific endeavor of 21st century. This course has been created to associate knowledge in intellectual area at the interface between biotechnology & traditional engineering disciplines using the principles, skills and techniques commonly associated with modern science: microbiology, biophysics, biochemistry, biochemical engineering, bioseparation, bioinformatics, immunology , animal & plant cell technology , transgenic techniques etc.

Objective

The course is designed to impart learner oriented education, research , development to generate world class manpower and knowledge base for biotechnology to improve the quality talent and skills of individuals to help them lead their lives as successful professionals. This course also provides a specialized high quality education to prepare for processional position in teaching& research in the organisations of national and international repute.

Scope

After completing the course of M.Tech. a candidate can opt his/her career in different areas of R&D, QC and management which may follow different disciplines of life sciences such as forensic science, bioinformatics, drug development, pharmaceuticals, medicines, environment management & conservation, clinical research services, food technology, medical biotechnology , biochemical engineering, as well as IPR biosafety, bioethics and management.

Eligibility : 10+2/ Intermediate qualified with 45% marks.

Selection Procedure :

The admission to M.Tech. Biotech. programme will be on the basis of AIEEE, university entrance test and also on the basis of merit.
